Texas does have a fairly stiff sales tax and taxes on real estate. What Texas does not have is an income tax and no tax on motor vehicles other than a very reasonable registration fee. It's $64.25 on my Ford Escape before I got personalized plates, which are an extra $30 per year; $22 of the fee goes to the Texas Department of Health for grants to promote blood donation in Texas.

If I was in the so-called "pig-oil" business, I would refuse to sell fuel to anyone who insulted me by calling me the "pig-oil" business. Of course, they wouldn't do that in real life because the stockholders would object when the people who call it the "pig-oil" business got on the oil-hating mainstream media and complain they wouldn't sell them fuel, as if fuel is a God-given right!
