In my opinion, E-10 is a good thing, however, I wish that it was derived from cellulose rather than from corn. At that level, ethanol reduces the production of poisonous carbon monoxide,CO, by all internal combustion engines. In Arizona, we require that all gasoline contain additives that add oxygen during the winter months. We have temperature inversions that trap the CO at ground level, not healthy. We used to use either 5% MTBE or 10% ethanol, but MTBE is poisonous and is a terrible water contaminant if spilled, we quit using that. Greater amounts of ethanol are not of any great health benefit and are not economically justifiable. Also many fuel systems and engines are damaged by E-15 and only Flex-fuel vehicles can use E-85. I don't believe in wasting food or feed to make anything over E-10. Warren :D)

Thanks for becoming my newest buddy. Hope that you have a great week. Back when I joined GasBuddy in '06, we were driving a '96 Grand Cherokee with all the bells and whistles including a big, gas sucking V-8 engine. We decided to get rid of it when gas prices spiked in '08. We now drive a '06 Audi sedan with a turbocharged 2 liter, 4 cylinder engine. It handles more like a sports car, is fast if needed and gets 33 MPG on the highway. We like it, but I miss being able to get off road to explore Arizona's great outback. There may be another Jeep in our future, but it will have a V-6 or smaller engine. Oh, I lived in Orlando back when I was 7-9 years old, beautiful state. Your new buddy, Warren :o)

Hi, you made a great comment on today's news item: "U.S. keeps building new highways while letting old ones crumble...". Thanks for making an intelligent post. Want to become buddies??? Warren :-)

Thank you for your question re: Hydroelectric converter. As I understand it, the intended market is purely industrial. Further, it seems it will only be applicable for industries near water sources. However, this is nearly all the industry in the country, as factories traditionally need access to a great deal of water. Though the market may seem limited, products with industrial applications can be highly profitable. As such, Vortex Hydro Energy has drawn private investment interest.
